Fun Pub’s D’Life Line & DJ Roslan: Night Life

Just after our photoshoot at Grand Dorsett Labuan, we had our dinner at Victoria Brassiere and hurried over to Fun Pub to witness the new Filipino band called D’Life Line. Started performing on March 1st 2010, D’Life Line replaced the old 3-month contracted The Stardust band and this new band will be performing from Mondays till Saturdays except Sundays starting at 9.30pm onwards. We enjoyed their performances that covered some very new english, chinese & hindi songs and though their music was easy to our ears, we decided to take some of their portraits to promote them. Alongside, a new DeeJay was put up here too replacing DeeJay Zul. So for those that have not been to Fun Pub since or would like to watch their repertoire, just head over and you won’t regret spending your time even with chilled iced water.

Rozi & Aivynur: Wedding

February was a quiet month for weddings, well at least for us but thanks this couple that has filled up our slot. Rozi & Aivy is now our latest featured wedding coverage. Started from “Akad Nikah” to “Balik 3 Hari”, this couple had a good time in front of our lenses and we indeed had fun shooting them. In this photo set, we decided to put up more of the couple’s shots and the bride’s friends. Their cat is also part of this photo set knowing it wasn’t shy to be taken. We were lucky to have a hot and sunny day with zero clouds at that time of their little outdoor session causing many of scenes with blue casts that blends in very well with their bridal garments and best of all, this seaside was just behind their yard. So to our February wedding couple, thank you very much for hiring us and we hope you love your photos and moments.

Firdaus & Rosnani: Wedding

When the East meets the West. It all started when she studied in the same university as he does and this is how Firdaus & Rosnani met each other during the younger years. Their love bonded all the way until today in one the most highlighted wedding events that we have taken so far. The bride is a great karaoke singer and we were so amazed by her high pitch and well controlled voice that she sang in this wedding and the groom is a very nice & supportive person and he gets along with everyone without hesitation. Their wedding ceremony was a real blast, extremely colorful and laughter filled the entire house with their own representatives commenting at the start of the Akad Nikah till the end of the Sanding event. So to this lovely couple, we thank you so much for supporting thus hiring us in your big event and have a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Khairi & Lazzmywati ~ Pre-Wedding

Khairi & Lazzmywati: Pre-Wedding

“When you are in Love you can’t fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams. The best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even be touched, they must be felt with the heart.” These are amongst 2 of the popular love quotes that are still used till now in the world and we would like to dedicate these quotes to our newest clients, Khairi & Bebeh. The Charming Prince is from Miri, Sarawak while his Lovely Angel is a local Labuan folk. Even better, both of them works at the same company so seeing each other, day to night isn’t a problem for them.

Today, we brought them to 3 locations for their Pre-Wedding. Locations are well known and best of all, it stands out far the most than many other locations here in this little island. Started with the botanical garden, I can’t express how truly beautiful today’s weather was and the sky was so blue with thickened clouds assisting it. Yes we did have a rough 2 weeks of stormy weather back then but that isn’t this part of the story. Photo shooting this location took us quite a while due to the large land mass and we had difficulties locating our areas of interest at first. Following on, we went over the infamous Nasi Lemak stall “Sabariah” for a 45 minutes lunch break and continuing our journey to the historical Chimney. Spent a few moments there knowing we already know what was in our shot list.

Lastly at 4pm, the local sea side was used for their prewed finale. The last time we shot at this beach, it was slightly different from today. Nonetheless, we covered a few scenes from this and a beautiful sun sets across the sea and after several shots till it subside, our photo shoot ended with lots of fun, laughter and not forgetting… sand flies. So once again to Khairi & Bebeh, we enjoyed taking your shots, we do hope you love ‘em and thank you so much and looking forward taking your big event.

Nur Hasya Dhaniyah: Babies

Right after today’s engagement ceremony, baby Sha Sha brings us this evening’s highlights with the Cukur Jambul ceremony. A brief introduction towards this ceremony is when a new born baby (male or female) reaches 40 days, the parents of the new born will prepare several ceremonial items plus, decorating the new born’s baby coat. A number of elderly people (preferably from the Islam Mosque) will come and gather for prayers. After the prayers, the same group of people will then use the provided scissors and cut off little strands of the baby’s hair (usually at the center or at the top of head). The hairs strands will then be thrown into a yellow coconut preserving the coconut juice. After all the elderly has participated in this, it is known that this ceremony is adjourned. They are then given door gifts and a meal.

Parents of this baby, Sham & Emy, thank you so much for supporting us again. We hope you liked your photos and congratulations to the both of you for having such a cute & chubby baby.

Johairy & Norhafizan: Engagement

We knew him when he was just a teenager. For 6 years we have argued over the smallest matter and laughed till our jaws got the cramps. His brother got married back 4 years ago and it was time for him to settle down and raise children. Without a sign, our good friend Johairy got engaged to the lovely fiancee of his, Norhafizan. First off, this couple really wanted us to take their engagement ceremony and has post phoned their dates due to our tight schedules since the beginning of this year. So we thank you for that thus being so supportive over us.

This is a huge engagement ceremony, so huge that it seems like they are already getting married. Many from his side and her side came to witness this ceremony even the dowries were so big and filled with "WOW"s here and there. Some were even drooling and can’t keep their eyes of it. Ended up about 2 hours later, we were unable to fulfill their outdoor photo shoot due to misty rains pouring at that time till late in the evening. Eagerly, we arranged the following day and settled up for a 2.5 hours photo session with the charming & lovely couple. So to Joe & Ejan, we enjoyed taking your photos and hope to be your official wedding photographer on your wedding day.

We’ve added our first slide show video montage featuring Nickelback “Never Gonna Be Alone” at the bottom. If only we were videographers, it could have been better.

Kasnan & Fieza: Wedding

Wrapping up our wedding clients for 2009 is this couple from Sioloon.com’s community group and here’s the story. He is an art teacher from a government school and she was a student. They started their relationship while she was still at high school till she graduated, got a job and now, they are finally wed! Words can’t describe how powerful love is but we do know that this couple’s love has no barrier. First of all, we would like to thank them for hiring us thus being the last wedding client for the year and like to congratulate them on their marriage. This is yet another traditional malay wedding ceremony but we spiced it bringing them for an outdoor photoshoot just right after their Sanding event. Soon after that, it was time for McDonalds… with their bridal garments on! This couple were so stunned to see so many people dinning at McD’s and at first, they hesitated to even step out from their car. After a minutes convincing them, they finally came out and we finally completed their wedding photoshoot at this popular franchise restaurant.

Martin & Sophiarena: Wedding

Today, we’ve captured an exciting wedding event that involves a charming British groom and a beautiful Malaysian bride to be wed in a traditional Malay Wedding. Started off with the Akad Nikah event which was slightly different from the usual that we have experienced before but the concepts and rules remained. Just right after their Nikah, we brought them out for a short outdoor photoshoot at Tiara Labuan Hotel and towards the night, their reception covers the Majlis Berinai, Majlis Bersanding, Makan Beradap & Potong Kek at Tiara’s Grand Ballroom. Their wedding was a blast having both friends & families of the British & the Malaysian couple to witness their wedding.

To our visitors and fans, apologize for not updating this portfolio site and yes, we’ve been busy with our schedules. This post covers our 1st December malay wedding couple and we brought them to a new location for their photoshoot after the Sanding ceremony. Lots of fun shooting them and discovering the new shooting location. So to this new wedding couple, congratulations on your wedding and thank you so much for supporting us.

Hazelan & Almaherah: Wedding

In November 09′s final week, here is another of a simple yet interesting malay wedding held in the bride’s residence here in Labuan with the common akad nikah, inai & sanding event. Groom is from Sarawak, chubby & cute guy. Likes to joke alot while the bride is the quiet type. This couple met each other during their studies at Kolej Matikulasi Labuan and with their ever lasting love for each other, here they are and happily married. They requested us to take a few shots back to the matrix and we were happy to do so. So to Lan & Era, congrats to you all and we enjoyed taking your moments.

I Love House Music Party: Night Life

Viewers warning… There are 75 pix in this set but it’s worth the loading times.

Blue Wave Lounge hosted this event and its our first time here capturing their highlights. 4 main DeeJays, 2 from the Philippines and 2 other from Brunei are battling against each other for the night’s supremacy. The resident DeeJays from the Philippines known as DJ Kima & DJ Jhon were already known as the one of the top DJs in Labuan island for their talents in remixing of Hip Hop, RnB, House & Electro tunes. While 2 DeeJays from Brunei were playing and remixing their own unique blend of Progressive & Tech House tunes in their own style. We are no DeeJays but the one thing we know that all these DeeJays played very well without major glitches. Warmed up by their resident band “D High Energy” band at 9pm and the main event began at 11.30pm and ended at 4am.

The club was awfully small, cramp and didn’t have enough strobe & laser lights but sufficient color lights were position only towards the dance floor. It didn’t really meet our expectations but we took advantage to this situation by giving some tilt & pan from our lenses to spice up the mood in our pix. Many of our favorite color effects were also added into this set so that our viewers are able to enjoy the variety of our shots. Before we forget, we were delighted to be their official photographer for this event though our buddies Kalis & Zyan Mojito came along spicing up the dance floor with their own photography style. The event ended with DeeJay E-Jump finishing off his set making this a bizarre night to be remembered. Now onto the set and please sit back, relax and let your fingers do the work.

Alexander & Suzie Lyn: Wedding

Here is a massive 42 pix to share with our loyal viewers and also to the newly weds for being so supportive throughout the whole event. Not only they are our close friends, they also believed in us thus hiring us to be their official photographers on this special moment. There are much to be said but we would like to share our photos that tells the story of this lovely couple. So to Alex & Suzie, thank you so much for making us your officials and congratulations.

Aaron Jonathan’s Birthday Bash: Birthday

Yes it’s a birthday party for a 1 year old boy which is cute and also featuring Aaron’s cousins. This is our first take in Keningau and though many have told us how boring their town is but, we don’t find it boring at all. Although there wasn’t any shopping malls or complexes, the shop lots itself were good enough for our daily living and purchasing. Our client was kind enough to book us a room in Juta Hotel and to my surprise, it was really beautiful. Now onto the pix.
